Contest Rules
Who can enter
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Employees of 401 Processing are not eligible to enter. Valid ID and NC hunting license required.
Eligible hunting area
Deer must be harvested in Scotland, Hoke, Moore, Richmond, or Robeson County, North Carolina, or Marlboro County, South Carolina.
Competition dates and legal harvests
The competition runs December 1, 2026–January 1, 2027. Every deer entered must be legally harvested by the hunter entering it during those dates. All applicable hunting laws and season dates must be followed.
Register before weigh-in
Hunters may register after harvesting a deer, but registration must be completed before that deer is weighed. This registration timing applies to all entrants.
Registration closes at 8:30 PM Eastern on January 1, 2027. All deer must still be fully weighed and entered by the 9:00 PM competition cutoff.
One registration per hunter
One hunter registration covers the competition. A registered hunter may enter multiple qualifying bucks personally harvested during the competition. Only that hunter’s heaviest single qualifying buck counts toward winning.
Official weigh-in location and condition
Deer must be weighed whole, not field-dressed, at 401 Processing, 21582 Seals Rd, Laurinburg, NC 28352, through Chris Locklear.
Processing hours are Monday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–9:30 PM. The competition’s final weigh-in cutoff is 9:00 PM Eastern on January 1, 2027.
Final weigh-in deadline
Deer must be fully weighed and entered by 9:00 PM Eastern on January 1, 2027. Arriving or being in line by 9:00 PM does not qualify a deer that has not been fully weighed and entered by the deadline.
Winner and tie-breaker
The heaviest single qualifying buck officially weighed and entered wins. If official weights are equal, the tie goes to the hunter with the earliest completed registration date and time.
Live competition winner announcement
The competition winner will be announced live on January 2, 2027. The announcement time and where to watch will be shared when confirmed.
Official weight
Official weights are recorded in pounds at 401 Processing. The officially recorded weight is used to determine results and ties.
Harvest information
Hunters must report where the deer was harvested, including the county, and the harvest date. Harvest information is supplied by the hunter.
No refunds
All registration fees are nonrefundable.
Disputes and complaints
All disputes will be settled at the discretion of Pointe Men Outdoors leaders. Complaints must be submitted to the leaders before the competition ends at 9:00 PM Eastern on January 1, 2027.
