Emojional Series: Fear

Fear can grip our hearts and keep us from stepping into God’s calling. In the second sermon of our Emojional series, we explored the story of Elijah—an incredible prophet who had just witnessed God’s power in a mighty way. Yet, when Jezebel threatened his life, fear overcame him, and he fled into the wilderness (1 Kings 19).

Even the strongest among us can find ourselves in Elijah’s shoes—running from threats, real or imagined, and letting fear steal our peace. But God didn’t abandon Elijah in his fear; He met him in a gentle whisper, reminding him of His presence and His plan.

Key Takeaways:

  • Fear is a natural human emotion, but it doesn’t have to control us.

  • Like Elijah, we may feel alone, but God never leaves us.

  • God speaks to us in the stillness, not the chaos—reminding us of His power, His plan, and His love.

Reflection:
What fears have been holding you back?
How can you invite God to meet you in the stillness today?
